The SMARC (‘Smart Mobility ARChitecture’) standard is specifically designed for development of extremely compact low-power systems. SMARCs dimensions are 82 mm × 50 mm for compact low-power designs and 82 mm × 80 mm for designs with higher performance and better cooling requirements. SMARC will typically use ARM SOCs or alternative low-power SOCs, such as mobile oriented X86. The Module power envelope is typically under 6W. The SMARC Module PCBs have 314 edge fingers that mate with a low profile 314 pin 0.5mm pitch right angle connector. The SMARC Modules are used with application specific Carrier Boards that implement features specific for the customers’ requirements.
